Welcome to the website of Scouting Andriessen from Oud Gastel (NL).

A short introduction...

Scouting Andriessen a scouts group in the village of Oud Gastel, in the south of the Netherlands. We have about 100 members, and offer a varied programme to youth members between 4 and 18 years old. Every saturday (or friday for explorers/venturers) we have meeting. In summer we also hold a summer camp for our members on an external location. With our scouts den located in the Oud Gastel forest and near a small pond we are not limited in our activities. In disappointing weather we can fill our time easility inside our two buildings! Our den can be rented by scout groups, associations and schools.

What is scouting?

Scouting (or the scout movement) is a global movement that aims to support young people in their physical, mental and spiritual development, that they may play constructive roles in society, with a strong focus on the outdoors and survival skills. With over 38 million members in over 160 countries this is no small movement. Scouts learn to work in a team by the means of games, action, manual skills, expression, nature, sport and service. This is an good leasure activity. The ultimate goal is to make a positive contribution to the personal development of the members.
Scouting Nederland is the biggest youth organisation in the country with about 90.000 members, and 30.000 volunteers distributed over 1300 groups.
Scouting offers kids a safe and instructive play environment regardless of their skintone, relegion, poitical conviction or disabilities. The activities are created such that as the kids age, the accompaniment decreases and the independence increases.
